Sprotte needle is used for Spinal anaesthesia, Pajunk SprotteĀ“s atraumatic puncture and optimal gliding properties minimise possible injuries and prevent foreign bodies and tissue particles from being carried into the subarachnoid space, while reducing the incidence of post-dural puncture headache (PDPH). Sprotte decreases complications of spinal anaesthesia and increases the safety of application.
- Sprotte ogive-shaped tip geometry creating an atraumatic cannula. (allowing practitioner to sense when they are penetrating tissues of varying density.)
- Lateral eye placement ensures free fluid flow even if the opening is partly blocked by arachnoidea
- Transparent hub to visualise any fluid reflux (blood or CSF), also available with magnification hub for easier viewing
- Metal stylet (removal creates a vacuum, allowing control of CSF fluid)
- Colour coded hub for gauge of needle, depth markings in 1cm increments
